SURRENDER AN ANIMAL

As a no-kill shelter, we can only take an animal if we have room. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. If we are unable to take your animal, we will give you some suggestions and possible alternatives for placing your animal.

If you would like to send information to animal intake on an animal you would like to surrender, please include all of the following information in an email. The more details you provide will make it easier and quicker for us to process the request.

Download a list of other area
shelters and rescue groups.

Please identify the type/breed of animal in the SUBJECT line of your email. For example, adult male German Shepherd, long-haired 4 yr old cat, Siamese kitten, Poodle/Lhasa mix puppy.

Please include as much of the following information about your animal as you know in your email: (PLEASE DO NOT SEND LARGE PICTURE ATTACHMENTS WITH YOUR EMAIL - OUR EMAIL SERVER WILL REJECT IT)

ANIMAL INFO
	Breed (including description of coat length and color)
	Age, sex and weight of the animal
	Spayed or neutered
	Has the animal had shots? When?
	Is dog on heartworm preventive?
	Does the animal live inside or outside?
	Does the cat use a litter box?
	Personality description (example: friendly, shy, loves to play, etc.)
	Are there any behavior problems (ex: biting, submissive urination, digging, etc.)
	Please include a RECENT picture (in jpeg format - MUST BE UNDER 2 MB)

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the large volume of requests we receive, we will only be able to contact you IF WE HAVE A CAGE of the appropriate size AVAILABLE or if we require additional information.

If you have not received a response to your email within 48 hours, you can go to www.petfinder.com for a listing of other animal shelters or rescue groups in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

LOST OR FOUND
If you have LOST or FOUND an animal:
	Contact all the animal shelters in the surrounding cities to report the animal has been lost or found.
	Post lots of signs in the surrounding areas where the animal was lost or found.
