Operation Kindness cares for nearly 1,500 animals each year thanks to our team of dedicated foster volunteers. Pets are placed in foster homes to help them heal and thrive. You can help puppies and kittens grow; mothers care for their young; and pets who need a bit more TLC before finding their forever families.
It’s rewarding knowing you are saving lives and preparing homeless animals for their new home.
Operation Kindness provides the necessary supplies including food, crate and toys. Training is given one-on-one. All medical care is provided by our on-site hospital. Around-the-clock support is provided by Operation Kindness staff and other experienced foster volunteers.
Please submit the foster volunteer form even if you are a current volunteer. It gathers different information that will be used to help provide you and your future fosters with a wonderful experience.
You will be contacted by an Operation Kindness staff member to get started. Fosters must be at least 18 years of age, and allowed to have animals in their home.
Pay your volunteer fees below per person and you will be directed to a survey to complete your application. All volunteers must attend a Volunteer Orientation webinar online and a hands-on training at the shelter before you can begin volunteering. Once you submit your application, you will be notified regarding the next available orientations.
An application fee of $35 for adult volunteers and $25 for junior volunteers (6-16 years old) is also required, per person. This covers your badge, T-shirt, and administrative costs.
If you are signing up to volunteer with your child, you must pay both an adult volunteer fee and junior volunteer fee.
This application is NOT for court ordered community service. Please call 972-418-7297 for more information about court ordered community service.
