On November 6, Operation Kindness hosted our 29th annual Canines, Cats & Cabernet gala and auction.
Held at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, guests participated in dining, dancing, and auctions for the animals. Guests also had the option to either participate in the auction virtually or attend the event in person.
Overall, more than 540 guests attended. There was a live auction, drinks, and live music by the Emerald City Band.
“It’s been a while since we’ve gathered in person to celebrate animal wellness as a community. Our excitement was certainly reflected at the Canines, Cats, and Cabernet Gala by giving our supporters a wonderful night of comradery,” said Ed Jamison, CEO of Operation Kindness.
The event’s purpose was to raise lifesaving funds to support Operation Kindness’s work for homeless pets across Texas. It’s a celebration of the community of supporters that ensure dogs and cats have the services, shelter, and safety they need. The Legacy of Kindness award was presented to the Rees-Jones Foundation for their support of thousands of animals.
And, the animal adoption lounge was a crowd favorite, as always! Six pets were adopted from the adoption lounge at the gala.
Operation Kindness raised more than $800,000 to support our lifesaving work with homeless pets through the event. These donations will go toward expanding investments into medical teams and provide even more opportunities for dogs and cats to receive care while they’re awaiting adoption.
Special thanks to the event’s Honorary Chair, Mary Frances Burleson, and event chairs Joni McCoy, Nancy Cozzie, Jefflyn Williamson, and Lesli Levine.
