Operation Kindness joins Clear the Shelters with free adoptions
Once again, Operation Kindness is excited to partner with NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 for the annual Clear the Shelters 2023 event!
Clear the Shelters
Clear the Shelters, a month-long event in August, aims to increase adoption rates for shelters across the country, providing homes to thousands of dogs and cats.
At Operation Kindness, you can adopt a pet for free on Friday, August 25, through Sunday, August 27, at all of our facilities in celebration of the Clear the Shelters initiative!
Preparing for your visit
Our Carrollton Shelter and our PetSmart Adoption Centers will be open from 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Adoption appointments are not required.
From there, interested adopters visit the shelter and the animal they’re interested in. Families can get to know available pets during meet and greets to find the right match. Our skilled adoption counselors can answer any questions that you have.
You can prepare for your visit by browsing our adoption pages to see available animals. Profiles include age, gender and personality descriptions! We’ll discuss further details, such as medical records, during adoption.
After adopting
After adoption, we continue to support adopters with resources and assistance.
Training and behavior resources are available online for both dogs and cats. You can also call or email our behavior team with any questions so that we can help support a smooth transition for your pet into their new home.
If your pet becomes sick after adoption, we’ll provide medical care at no cost for up to 2 weeks.
