On November 12, Operation Kindness hosted our 30th annual Canines, Cats & Cabernet gala and auction.
Held at the Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Dallas, more than 500 guests participated in dining, dancing, and auctions for the animals.
The event’s purpose was to raise lifesaving funds to support Operation Kindness’s work for pets across Texas. It celebrates the community of supporters that ensure dogs and cats have the services, shelter and safety they need.
The Legacy of Kindness award was presented to Charles Jones, a loyal supporter, adopter and donor to Operation Kindness for over 15 years.
Charles and his late wife, Madelaine, generously provided the funding for the Cat Wing at Operation Kindness which has been a haven for thousands of cats. Charles was also one of our kitten nursery founders. Thanks to him, kittens in the nursery are thriving and receiving medical care 24 hours a day.
The Champion for Animals award was presented to Carol Seay for her integral part in saving the lives of animals in need. Carol’s leadership has assisted in connecting supporters with Operation Kindness, raising nearly one million dollars in support of our mission. Carol continues the legacy of the Seay family’s philanthropy and generosity in our community.
Operation Kindness raised nearly $800,000 to support our lifesaving work with dogs and cats through the event. These donations will go toward expanding investments into new and existing programs to provide even more opportunities to support pets and the people who love them.
