Operation Kindness is thrilled to announce Dallas philanthropist Jan Rees-Jones as our honorary chair for the organization’s 32nd annual fundraising event, Canines, Cats & Cabernet. The special evening of dinner, dancing, live music and auctions at the Sheraton Dallas hotel showcases our mission and work to approximately 500 attendees each year, with a 2024 fundraising goal of $837,000.
The 2024 Canines, Cats and Cabernet event host committee, made up of community leaders Miles Blanton, Curt Boisfontaine, Nancy Cozzie, Catherine Griffin, Joni McCoy, Elbert Choi and Kate Malone, will lead this year’s event which will occur on November 2, 2024.
“Jan and The Rees-Jones Foundation have been integral partners to our lifesaving work at Operation Kindness,” said Ed Jamison, the chief executive officer at Operation Kindness. “I’m thrilled to have Jan as our Canines, Cats and Cabernet honorary chair this year, and to have all of our new host committee members who will make our 2024 event the best one yet.”
“I am honored to participate in the Canine, Cats & Cabernet event this year,” said Jan Rees-Jones. “Since our Foundation’s inception in 2006, one of our key priorities has been to promote the humane treatment of companion animals. Properly cared for, these animals enrich our lives in so many ways and contribute to the overall well-being of families from all around our city. Operation Kindness has been there for our pets for almost 50 years, bringing the best medical care and services to the most vulnerable animals in our community, and I am so pleased to be a small part of their work.”
The annual Canines, Cats & Cabernet event is an extravaganza that allows community members to celebrate their passion for animal wellness with dinner, dancing and live music by the Emerald City Band, as well as a live adoption lounge where guests can meet and adopt Operation Kindness animals awaiting loving homes.
Special thanks to Canines, Cats & Cabernet Gala’s 2024 sponsors, Haley Lerman, National Life Group, CityVet, Robyn Falconer, Troy and Jill Sturrock, Bruce Bordelon and Meridian Veterinary Real Estate.
