Meet Baby Y2K, the 2,000th kitten cared for in our nursery

Baby Y2K

Meet Baby Y2K, the 2,000th kitten to receive care in the Operation Kindness neonatal kitten nursery! Baby Y2K was transferred from Dallas Animal Services (DAS) on March 13 after being found orphaned. At 14 days old, Y2K came to our neonatal kitten nursery to receive round-the-clock care and to grow into a strong and healthy cat.

We celebrated the 1,000th kitten to receive care in the nursery just over a year ago in October 2023. The nursery is staffed 24/7 by our expert medical team, who are expertly trained to feed kittens and keep them warm, clean and dry.

With the start of kitten season, underage and orphaned kittens like Baby Y2K are on the rise and need our care more than ever. The nursery provides assistance to our shelter partners that either don’t have the resource or space to take in the influx of kittens require critical care.

Baby Y2K is now in a foster home where he is bottle fed, kept warm and loved. Our fosters play a vital role in ensuring we help as many underage kittens as possible. Once the kittens are able to eat on their own and are given all necessary medical exams and procedures, they are then available for adoption!

This May will be the three-year anniversary of the neonatal kitten nursery opening. We are thankful for your support, which allows us to assist vulnerable pets. We aim to assist as many kittens as possible and can’t wait to see them grow into healthy cats!
