Operation Kindness’ Community Initiatives team joined a team of relief veterinarians in an effort to help thousands of animals under the care of the El Paso Animal Services Department receive surgical care.
This collaborative approach was a response to the nationwide veterinarian shortage, which is affecting the El Paso region with more than 20 veterinarian vacancies citywide.
From Oct. 21 to Nov. 7, our Community Initiatives team joined 8 surgeons and 5 techs who performed 1,093 spay/neuter surgeries. Thank you to Petco Love for their partnership on this initiative!
“Everyone involved is incredibly excited to partner with El Paso Animal Services to save more lives in their community,” said Meredith Jones, Operation Kindness’ Chief Community Initiatives Officer. “When partners like Operation Kindness and El Paso Animal Services collaborate on large efforts such as this, we know that we are truly making a difference for the animals and the people who love them. We look forward to continuing to partner to maximize these lifesaving efforts.”
