At Operation Kindness, we care about the health and wellbeing of all animals. One way we prioritize this is by spaying/neutering all pets that come into our care, which benefits an animal’s health by reducing the chance of fatal diseases and infection, such as Pyometra, a life-threatening infection of the uterus.
Join us in celebrating the holiday by ensuring your pets are spayed and neutered. We offer multiple opportunities for community members to get their pet spayed or neutered for a low cost.
What is World Spay Day?
World Spay Day, which happens annually on the fourth Tuesday of February and on Feb. 25 this year, is a day of recognition and increased awareness of the importance of spay and neuter surgeries for animals.
The holiday is celebrated around the world by veterinary professionals, animal welfare experts and pet lovers alike in efforts to increase spay and neuter surgeries.
Spay/Neuter Surgeries for Pets in Dallas
Our Community Initiatives team works tirelessly to provide surgeries all across Texas. We also partner with organizations to make spaying or neutering pets easy and affordable. Visit our community events calendar to see our upcoming events.
Community Cat Spay/Neuter Surgeries
In a collaboration with Dallas Animal Services (DAS), we collaborate to provide free spay/neuter services in Dallas for up to 75 unowned, free-roaming community cats for City of Dallas residents. The next upcoming event will be on February 26 and will be offered every second Friday of the month starting in March.
This is a first come, first served event and includes spay/neuter surgery, ear tip, FVRCP and rabies vaccinations and microchips. Surgery drop-off is at 7 A.M. and pick-up is at 3:30 P.M. at our Lifesaving Partnerships Hub.
Community cats must come in a humane trap, with one cat per trap. For any questions or information about the event, email communitycats@dallas.gov.
