August is in full swing, and Operation Kindness has a lot in store! From adoption events to community outreach engagements, there’s so many ways you save a pet’s life this month.
Shelter events
Operation Kindness is participating in the national Clear the Shelters campaign this month! In celebration, we will be waiving all adoption fees from August 25-27 at our Carrollton shelter, Pet Supplies Plus adoption events and our PetSmart Adoption Centers. Read more about why this is a great time to adopt a pet.
To help us celebrate, the Helpful Honda folks from the North Texas Honda Dealers will be joining us on Saturday, August 26, with their “Pups and Pops” free ice cream truck! They will be serving an assortment of free treats for visitors from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
Low-cost and free pet wellness events
Our Community Initiatives team will be providing several low-cost and free pet wellness events throughout the month. Those in need can bring their dogs and cats to the locations listed to receive vaccinations, microchips or heartworm disease testing, with heartworm and flea/tick preventions available for purchase. Services provided vary from event and can be found below or on our calendar. All events are first come, first serve. We ask that you keep all dogs on leashes and cats in carriers.
